Six consecutive WeddingSutra Platinum Awards
WeddingSutra is one of India’s most influential wedding platforms, and its Platinum Award is its highest level of recognition. Winning it for Best Wedding Choreographer six years running puts Sumit Khetan in rare company: consistent recognition at the top, year after year, rather than a single standout season.

A decade at the Great Indian Wedding Awards
2026 marks ten years of recognition for Sumit at the Great Indian Wedding Awards. At the latest edition he added six more GIWA awards across the Bronze, Silver and Gold categories, making him one of the most decorated choreographers in the history of the awards.

From choreography to complete wedding experiences
When Sumit started out, wedding choreography mostly meant teaching families a few routines. Over nearly two decades, his work has grown into something much bigger. Today Sumit Khetan Entertainment Co. (SKE) handles the whole creative side of a celebration:
- Artistic direction, storytelling and concept
- Music and choreography
- Professional performers, costumes and props
- Production and show direction
The result is a sangeet that feels theatrical, cinematic and deeply personal, whether it is a large-scale production or an intimate, highly curated evening. The team has created celebrations across India and at international destinations. The philosophy behind it is simple: a wedding performance should not just entertain an audience; it should tell the family’s story.

Beyond weddings: Bollywood and television
Sumit’s choreography credits reach well beyond weddings. They include work associated with Bollywood and some of India’s best-known television shows, including Bigg Boss and The Kapil Sharma Show, and collaborations with leading artists across the entertainment industry. His formal training began at Shiamak Davar’s Institute of Performing Arts, followed by international training at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance in New York.
551 varmalas in under 60 seconds: a Guinness World Record
One of the most remarkable moments of Sumit’s career came at a landmark mass wedding celebration, where he choreographed 551 varmala ceremonies in less than 60 seconds. The feat was recognised by Guinness World Records, at an event attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It showed what has become a signature of his work: artistic choreography delivered at enormous scale, with precision.
“The awards are a reflection of the people who trust us”
For me, these awards are not just about trophies. They represent the trust that families, planners and clients place in us to turn one of the most important celebrations of their lives into an unforgettable experience. Six consecutive Platinum Awards and a decade of GIWA recognition are incredibly humbling. They also remind me that after almost 20 years, the responsibility is to keep evolving, keep creating and keep raising the bar for what wedding entertainment can be.

What’s next
Sumit’s larger vision goes beyond choreography: a creative wedding entertainment and planning ecosystem where art, storytelling, production and celebration come together under one creative vision. After nearly two decades, the next chapter is only beginning.
